When to replace the Mazda 2 timing belt

Petrol variants produced between 2003 and 2007

  • Mazda 2 1.25 55 kW =  Every 160 000 kilometres or after a maximum of 10 years.
  • Mazda 2 1.4 59 kW =  Every 160 000 kilometres or after a maximum of 10 years.
  • Mazda 2 1.6 74 kW =  Every 160 000 kilometres or after a maximum of 10 years.

Diesel variants produced between 2003 and 2007

  • Mazda 2 1.4 CD 50 kW =  Every 160 000 kilometres or after a maximum of 10 years.

Petrol variants produced between 2007 and 2015

  • Mazda 2 1.3 all variants = Timing chain. Check and replace if necessary after 10 years. 
  • Mazda 2 1.5 75 eb 76 kW = Timing chain. Check and replace if necessary after 10 years. 

Diesel variants produced between 2007 and 2015

  • Mazda 2 1.4 CD 50 kW =  Every 200 000 kilometres or after a maximum of 10 years.
