When to replace Suzuki Vitara timing belt
Does the Suzuki Vitara have a timing belt or chain? And when should you replace the belt? Below is the overview of the timing belt replacement interval of the Suzuki Vitara. For some Vitara model variants, Suzuki uses a timing belt for engine transmission. As this component wears out over time, the manufacturer has set fixed timing belt replacement intervals for the relevant models. For example, on a 1990 model Vitara 1.6, the timing belt should be replaced every 100,000 km or every five years. Newer Vitara type LY with the 1.6 litre diesel has to go to the garage every 140,000 km or every five years to replace the timing belt. There are also models of the Vitara that use a timing chain, read more about replacing a timing chain.
