When to change the timing belt for Daihatsu Sirion

The Daihatsu Sirion is a small car that has been built and sold since 1998. The engines of the latest model series are driven by a timing chain, the first series had a timing belt. Below are the intervals known to us.

Petrol variants produced between 1998 - 2005

  • Daihatsu 1.0i all variants = Every 100 000 kilometres or 5 years
  • Daihatsu 1.3i = No interval known - guideline is 90 000 kilometres or 5 years. 

Petrol variants produced from 2005 onwards -

  • Daihatsu Sirion 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5 = Timing chain, check and replace if necessary after 10 years.
